Latch in Cementing Plugs

The COS Latch-In Cement Plug is engineered to provide effective cement displacement and wiping action during liner cementing. Constructed from vulcanized rubber over a durable aluminum core, the plug ensures a secure seal and smooth passage through the drill pipe.

As the dart is pumped down, it wipes away excess cement and then latches into the liner wiper plug, locking in place to travel as a single unit. This design guarantees clean casing walls, reduced contamination, and reliable cement placement.

Key Benefits

  • Provides effective wiping action for cleaner drill pipe interiors
  • Locks securely into the liner wiper plug to prevent backflow
  • Reduces risk of cement contamination and improves bonding
  • Fully compatible with liner cementing systems
  • Ensures efficient, reliable cementing with minimal downtime

Features

  • Construction: Rubber vulcanized around an aluminum core
  • Aluminum nose with snap ring for reliable latch engagement
  • Two-way valve operation redirects flow to drive the dart effectively
  • Latch ring mechanism secures the dart into the liner plug
  • Designed for smooth travel through drill pipe and liner systems

Applications

  • Liner cementing operations requiring effective wiping and secure latching
  • Wells where cement displacement efficiency and contamination prevention are critical
  • Suitable for vertical, deviated, and horizontal liner jobs
